Jerry West, the legendary NBA player and executive whose silhouette became the inspiration for the league's logo, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 86.
A Career in Basketball
West played professionally for the Los Angeles Lakers from 1960 to 1974, where he was an 14-time All-Star and a one-time NBA champion. He was also a member of the 1960 U.S. Olympic basketball team.
