Torrential downpours have inundated South Florida, causing major disruptions and record-breaking rainfall. On Wednesday, heavy rains swept through the region, leaving roads submerged, stranding vehicles, and forcing the closure of schools and airports.

Major roads in various parts of South Florida were rendered impassable due to flooding. Fort Lauderdale experienced the heaviest rainfall in its history, a 1-in-1000-year event that triggered flash floods. As a result, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport suspended operations until Friday morning, with entrances and exits being submerged.
